Fromage - The Cheese Themed Resto

Fromage, the place that became had its Cheese wheel gone viral over Instagram, also had its infamous moment with a veg being served non veg issue. What happened to the place after that? Well the place now has an entire new team and equipments. Headed by well known Chef Koushik Shankar aka The Mad Chef, Fromage is now being featured as a Cheese Themed Restaurant.

The decor remains the same, I like it. The blue and yellow, the frames, nice sunlight through the windows.
The menu is totally is fresh.
A bunch of us were there for a lunch meet to try the new menu.
Here’s what the Chef served us:

MOCKTAILS:

They have mango special mocktails, Made with canned juice, a little twist to each drink adds it to the season’s drink. Mango Sour, Mango Screw driver,  Mango Mojito
And Mango strawberry Daiquiri. For me these were a bit sour. What was interesting is the Watermelon Fromage, which is the classic watermelon and feta salad turn into a drink. Refreshing this summer and fresh flavour too.

SOUP:

Broccoli & Cheese: Now this is interesting. It is a Cheesy Broccoli Soup In A Bread Bowl. I have always loved bread bowl soups. This one has hell lot of cheese in it. We took a lot of time in clicking it and then the appetisers started flowing in. I guess I should go and order this once, just this. I feel I might enjoy as I like broccoli, I like cheese and as I already mentioned, I love bread bowls for soups.

Starters-Veg

Assorted Fried Cheese: Three types of cheese balls with different colours garnish to distinguish. Good one.

Assorted Bruschetta: Peri peri panner, tomato and basil and mushroom with onions! Well, Regular toasties with generous portion of toppings. I tried the mushroom bruschetta, it was yumm.

Onion Jam & Feta Tortellini : This is a damn good. Go for it. The sweetish caramelised onion and feta filling a tortellini, fried well.

Starters-       Non Veg

Chicken Parmigiano: I liked it. I might order this with a drink.

Spicy Wings: While the chicken and the spice level was quite good. The wings being juicy. The only factor here I didn’t like is the texture, which has a very coarse coat of masala over, and a lot of it.

Fritto Misto : My favourite amongst everything that we had that lunch. An assorted basket of fritters with prawns, calamari and fish. Too good.

MAINS:

We had some penne pasta made live in the Parmesan Wheel with Ratatouille. Both tasted good to me. The torch fire, the cheese and the pasta, lovely little theatre there. I feel adding a little more white sauce there would be nice, making the pasta more moist.

There was Beef Lasagne too, that I tried just a bite, as I don’t regularly eat beef. The lasagna was good, should try in chicken.

DESSERT:

Death by Chocolate: The grand ten layered chocolate cake, shared by 6 of us. Well, not bad, but not the best one I have had.
The visit made me wanting something more. I may visit again and try a few more stuff for sure.

OVERALL:
For cheese lovers, this is heaven. Otherwise. Order carefully, few items at a time or a mix as the cheese may get heavy.
